Uplistsikhe (lord’s castle) is one of the oldest settlements in Georgia. This town is a real gem for history lovers: it was cut in stone in 1000 BC (!), while an interesting three-nave basilica located at the complex dates back to the tenth century. As you climb through the complex, you will discover structures such as meeting halls, dwellings, sacrifice places, pharmacy, bakery, prison, storage room and an amphitheater, all connected via tunnels. You will also see ventilation shafts and wells. Uplistsikhe is your chance to witness and touch something truly ancient and remarkable. Pack your climbing shoes and get ready for exploration!
